The Cumberland Presbyterian Church was formed in Tennessee during February of 1810 by Samuel McAdor as a result of the expulsion of Presbyterian Church members.
The church currently boasts memberships of just over 40,000 members and has roughly 750 congregations that are mostly located throughout North America.
The Church's name, Cumberland, was taken from the Cumberland River Valley in Tennessee where Mr. McAdor formed the church.
