Forming in 1950 near Minneapolis, MN and merging two congregations of both Swedish and Norwegian-Danish EFCA's together, this denomination shares early ties with the similarly named Evangelical Covenant Church.
The EFCA emphasizes Christian responsibility and accountability, and although it has strong roots in Evangelical movements, it does not support these as heavily as some other similar denominations.
