
The Greek Orthodox Church is part of the Orthodox Church and is comprised of a body of several smaller churches. Most notably, it is comprised of the Greek Orthodox Church of Alexandria and the Greek Orthodox Church of Antioch, whose belief structure in typically spoken in Koine Greek; which is the original written language of the New Testament.
The church was first formally recognized as early as the 10th century. It's important to note that several churches have been incorrectly associated with the Greek Orthodox Church, most notably the Orthodox Church of Albania.
