The Missionary Church is evangelical in its classification and ultimately believes the bible to be the one, true, inspired word of God and the ultimate and final authority in all matters concerning faith.
The church was formed in Indiana in 1898 by Joseph Ramseyer as a result of his exclusion to an Amish church. Several mergers have results in its growing membership since its formation; most notably from the United Missionary Church and the Missionary Church Association.
