Radiology schools offer their students certificates, associate's, and bachelor’s degree in radiological science, and often take between 2 and 4 years to complete. Taking x-ray and obtaining radiologic samples can sometimes be a very hazardous procedure and tolerances are very tight for both procedures and administration, which is why there is consistent demand for formally trained radiology graduates looking to work in the healthcare industry.

The curriculum for this degree program includes patient care procedures, radiation protection and physics, clincical instruction, and medical terminology. Students graduating with degrees from radiology schools typically go on to becoming radoliogic technicians and technologists.

Additional licensing and certification is sometimes required by employers. Accredited boards such as the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiological Technology (JRCERT) and the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (AART) typically carry out this additional training. Both of these organization have accredited over 200 schools throughout the country with radiology degree programs and offer graduates additional training, licensing, and certification after graduation.
