Law schools don't only train their students to become lawyers - many students also train to become a legal assistant or a paralegal.

While Law school admissions will vary depending on the school, many of the top ranking law schools in the country only admit a select few applicants each year. A large majority, however, will have much more open admissions standards available to students.

Law school training occurs at both the undergraduate and graduate degree levels, with training taking anywhere from 3 to 7 years in law school. Once complete, all students wishing to become lawyers will have to pass a written bar examination. Students going on to become lawyers typically work long hours, but many salaried lawyers have more structured work schedules; averaging 37 to 50 hours per week.
